System Administrator | Onsite | Makati
- Works primarily with VMs and OS
- Configures, manages, and implements operating systems and virtual machines
- Creating and managing system permissions and user accounts
- Takes part in the design, architecture, implementation and maintenance of VM design and requirements for projects
- Troubleshoots software issues on pertaining to VMs and OS
- Regularly monitors the health and performance of VM components
- Performs regular patching to address vulnerabilities and ensure that OS and hardware firmware are up to date
- Continuously learn about new technology like cloud and containers
- Researches industry developments regarding VMs and OS components to learn and implement better system administration practices, understand cost-effective alternatives, and to guard against unplanned obsolescence
- Where needed, recommends better and/or more cost-effective replacement infrastructure.
- Provides technical support and consultancy services to personnel in data center operations, applications management, and risk management
- Documents the configuration of his assigned infrastructure components, and keeps such documentation updated and secure.
- 8-10 years of experience as System Administrator
- Prior experience in managing VMs and OS
- Working knowledge of LINUX, and Windows Server operating systems
- Operational knowledge of server virtualization and virtual desktop technologies
