About the role: 
  • Perform network design and capacity planning
  • Conduct research on network products, services, protocols, standards in support of network procurement and development efforts
  • Installs and maintains network file servers and network OS; and ensures that backup copies of files are routinely made and securely stored
  • Provides technical support to users concerning network system operations
  • Assigns and maintains the IP addresses assigned to users and applications
  • Diagnoses problems with network equipment and performs repair or upgrades when appropriate
  • Administer and maintains network user accounts, permissions, and access rights
  • Installs, configures, and maintains network equipment, cabling, and other network equipment such as hubs, switches, routers, and UPS
  • Assists system administrators with maintenance of VOIP phone system
  • Takes part in the design, architecture, implementation and maintenance of network design and architecture
  • Regularly monitors the health and performance of VM components
  • Performs regular patching to address vulnerabilities and ensure that network hardware firmware is up to date
  • Researches industry developments regarding network components to learn and implement better network administration practices, understand cost-effective alternatives, and to guard against unplanned obsolescence
  • Where needed, recommends better and/or more cost-effective replacement infrastructure.
  • Provides technical support and consultancy services to personnel in data center operations, applications management, and risk management.
  • Documents the configuration of his assigned infrastructure components, and keeps such documentation updated and secure
Position requirements: 
  • 8-10 years of experience as Network Administrator
  • Proven expertise in networking, routing and switching
  • In-depth understanding of network infrastructure and common networking protocols
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
  • Experience with Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPN, LAN, and WAN
